Watching the latest and most popular movies, animes, and TV series and shows in High Definition on your computer whenever you want and free of cost is the dream of most (if not all) movie buffs. TeaTV offers you all that and then some of other interesting features, such as the option to download that same movie or TV show or to record the streaming video in real time.
You won’t find any screeners, camcorders, or any other low-quality video rip on TeaTV. Most of the movies and shows that you can watch from here are either in 720p or 1080p quality, which will look and sound great on your PC’s giant screen. You will find the occasional copy in 360p or 480p, but that’s not the norm. When available, the program will also offer you to watch them subtitled in the language of your choice as per your default settings. Matching the high quality of both the image and the sound, TeaTV offers you the latest movies and series, the newest and the most viewed shows and animes available on the Web.
As soon as the program opens, you’re presented with “Discover”, an amazing selection of last week’s top films and TV shows, as well as some popular movie-related websites for you to find out what’s coming. You can choose your favorite category among TV Shows, Movies, and Animes, and either browse through the titles provided or make your own search. You can sort and filter them by genre, year, and level of popularity, and click on any of them to know more about it or watch a trailer. Once you’ve found what you’d like to watch, just click on the “Watch now” button and TeaTV will display a list of all the options available. You’ll get hits from all the most popular high-quality movie streaming portals, such as Go Watch Free Movies, 5Movies, or PrimeWire, etc., categorized as “Direct” or “Embed” – the former will play in the program’s own media player, while the latter will be “embedded” in the player of the site the movie/TV show comes from. Either way, the response is almost immediate, and the selected file will start playing in barely a few seconds.
In case you’d like to enjoy your favorite movie or TV show offline, TeaTV offers you the possibility of downloading them. Each entry on the results list will tell you its actual size and (sometimes) video quality to help you decide which one is worth grabbing. They usually say nothing about the file format they’re in, but just to be safe the program offers you a video converter (still in beta) that will turn any file you download into a compatible MP4 video file. Alternatively, you can use TeaTV’s screen recorder to make a copy in real time of whatever video the program’s playing back. A caveat, though – the recording tool will grab the entire window (warts and all) and will stick a TeaTV logo to the bottom right corner of your video. I’m still trying to figure out who would prefer such a low-quality time-consuming recording instead of an HD download of the movie or TV show in question – unless you’re only interested in keeping a fragment of the streaming video, that is.
When it comes to keeping track of your movies, TeaTV offers you Watch List, History, Recent, and Downloaded, where you can follow your activity within the program. You can clear these lists easily in the Settings dialog, where you can also set your default language for subtitles and define a custom download folder.
TeaTV has managed to put together the latest movies and TV shows in high quality, an easy-to-use interface, a powerful download manager, an excellent media player, and a screen recorder all in one single tool. If we add to all this the fact that it’s a completely free tool, I see no reason not to have it installed on our computer, unless, of course, you are not interested in movies.
